Mt. Balagbag

Sorry sa mga terms q, I'm not a certified mountaineer eh..(-_-)V...

Mt. Balagbag this time!.. Naki join lng kame ni jowa dito. On the spot bilihan ng tent, nakakaloka!

Meeting place: KFC - SM Fairview

Mt. Balaglag is somewhere in San Jose del Monte Bulacan. This happened way back in September of 2011 pa. So hindi na ganun ka vivid yung descriptions q.. hehe.. (char lng, nirereview q yung post andami qng nasabi.)

I not going to be specific, hindi aq masyado sa ganun eh, like saan bababa, ano sasakyan, level of difficulty chuchu... Check other blogs nalang (tamad).

This post is for me to smile if I'm going to read this in the the future.

Meet the gang.

This would be my first time to join a serious (serious daw oh) mountain climbing event.
I mean a formal one, with tents and all that. Diba laking probinsya aq, so no big deal na yung akyat ka ng bundok we do it as a task or just for fun, plus hindi naman ganito ka taas at kalayo and we can go home within an hour or so.

The green one, that is the tent we bought. I love the color you'll see it later. I gave it to my siblings when I went home last april. My little cousins love it. Bahay bahayan lng ang feel.

Syama, my bf's cousin. best in prepare, she has everything from socks to flashlight, kame keber lang.

Along the way, this man walked with us for about 1 hour I think. He was so drunk, he even offered his services to be our guide with pay of course, but hey we can manage. I was a bit concerned for him though. The amazing thing is when we say rough road supah rough talaga yung hanggang tuhod yung dent ng lupa, we were so concerned as alam mo naman yung lakad ng lasing but he never stumbled and it's like he know the path no matter how dark (wala syang flashlight) and drunk he is.

At first ang saya saya, kwento kwento.. then later hingal na hingal na.. puro "guys time out muna!"

It's really working, talking while walking diverts your attention about how far, how tiring and you won't even noticed that you have walked a mile now.

One of our time-out-muna-guys session.

There has been a little rain so the trek is quite slippery.

We were discussing about the "lessons learned". First is we really need to buy a trekking shoes, or any sandals with a good grip for activities like this. I like Syama's socks, kikay  lng sa bundok.

Another time out moment.
See?! our avid fan is still following us.
The one with a white white jacket with a blue something on the shoulder part.

There were so many beautiful sights like the city lights and the fireflies, my camera is not able to catch it. Low tech pa. When we reached the peak, may mga campers na na nauna.
We quitely set up our tents and we rushed to prepare our dinner.

Looks ok, pero our kanin is not luto..
I was laughing cause I think there has been a misunderstanding with the burner set up.
I promised that I'll cook breakfast for tomorrow.
Pangit pala pag gutom na gutom ka na and you really have to eat it as wala ka  ng choice.

I enjoyed our little tent. It's low but it's lengthy. 3 persons can fit.

This is the color. Lavet!.. maganda sya tingnan nung summer time. So bright with the summer colors.

Hindi naman talaga aq nakatulog.
I kept on listening to the sound either of an early bird or an insect.
I missed home. I grew up in Capiz, it's freaky if you hear a "kawkaw" (a bird we consider an aswang or a warning sign that there will be an aswang for the night).
But hearing it in Mt. Balagbag made me excited, the feeling of the childhood panakot and the thrill kept me awake.
I was telling my BF about this, I guess her was also facinated, I can feel him being tensed when I told him it's just around and is near. hehe..

Breaking Dawn. Too bad its gloomy. Mejo parang uulan padin kasi.
I kept on peeking from our tent. Di pa q sure what the other campers look like.
I was also waiting for the first person form our group to come out para my kasama aq. hehe

Good morning! Good Morning! -pampers commercial song lang ang bet.
Si jowa bini brief pa yung sarili qng nasan sya. Mga 30 mins siguro syang tahimik. haha..

Ano ba tawag dun?.. ah clearing. I was hearing this with the other campers. Clearing ng bundok? I thought trees were being cut or something.
Sa clouds pala yun.. shunga shunga lng..

Ayun! see the clouds formation? mataas pala talaga kme.

Emote lng mga bagong gising!.. wala pang toothbrush toothbrush yan ha.

Linis linis din. naka dalawang sako kame ng kalat at utensils infairness.

Picture picture din. The scene is not that picture perfect, first is gloomy nga, kahit saan basa.
The sunrise is not that breathtaking dahil nadin sa weather of course pero keri na din.

At ako na ang naka pajama na silk, wala na choice eh. Last minute prep kasi.
Denis, the man with a backpack on the left handside. He is the most prepared and experienced of us all. If you happen to be his friend on FB, you will see cool and extreme places he's been to. His buddy Gon'z, they both share the same passion for this type of events.
Mejo marami lng aqng chuchu na nakita kay Denis kaya sya na!

There's the flag. Group shot. :)

The sight did went good. The sun showed up and it feels like the grass and the flowers were smiling and greeting us.

Mini falls. I remember being so excited to see the actual waterfall.
It's refreshing seeing something like this.

We ladies, including Jilson/Hilson rested while the boys checked for the correct path papunta sa falls.
Bad news is the nearest one is too far. Ironic.

Pacute lng.

There is this gate with the sign "no tresspassing" sign.
We stopped by here the night of our hike, we were afraid we might violate some laws or something.
Most of the group are Legal management students so the history goes.

Eventually, this sign is  just a chuchu as per the villager.
There is a nearby house.
So we merrily went up the hill, to fetch a pale of water.. tralalala..

Peg lang namin mag pose as if we're trapped. Yung daanan nasa right hand side ng pic. See below.

See the sign? pasaway lng.

On our way down, we found some rocks, big rocks, hindi sya ganun ka fascinating pero wala ka naman makikita na ganito in your everyday life sa manila.
 so go! pose!
Waley lang. Masabi lng na creative.
Weh?.. si jowa energetic na..

Planking?.. saya. :) kawawa yung nag picture di sya kasama. :(

Ayaw paawat. Moment mo na.
Yung peg talaga kasi is picturan sya with the sky as his background eh sori na full body and full rock shot sya eh..

See may sunrise na. :)
Me with the light bags.

This is our wonder boy!
The story is, we were asking every people we meet if they know a water fall nearby.
So we bumped into this kid, I think nag babantay sila ng uling by the road.

We asked him, "my alam ka na falls?
Boy: Pools? oo jan sa taas". Sabay turo sa hill on his back.
Us:Falls?.. weh?
Boy: Oo nga..
Us: Pwede pumasok? parang private. (my gate churva eh)
Boy: Oo pwede.
Us: Samahan mo nga kame.

Next scene. Breathtaking!

With so much happiness he gave us, we gave him money!.. haha..

Pool nga naman talaga.. kame na makulit. More picture's later. Pabitin lng.

As promised, I'll cook!.. super gutom na. I have so many helper's. Mina also cooked.

Jomer, Syama's bhebhe..
He waited for the softdrinks. Sa baba daw binili.
I wonder how far was it.
The girls took 2 hours to get back.

Boodle fight!.. everybody's excited!

Ibang view naman daw.
It's a mixture of corned beef, pulang egg, tuna omelette uhm.. maling?.. this is the only supply available.
Swear luto na yung kanin. :)
Every body was amazed how we cooked it efficiently, char lang. Ang simple lng ng lulutuin.
Pag sa probinsya ka nga naman galing, sisiw lang magpabaga ng uling. Nag rarhyme sya infairness.

More pics! na cutan masyado sa arrangement.

Si jowa oh.. He cooked the tuna omelette with lots of tomatoes. yummy!

Takam!

See simut sarap!..

Picture picture!

Syamayuki :)

Syama and me! taba..

chichi.. chuchay..

Unlimited water.. gow lng sha ng gow..
ang taba ng utak. :)

dive daw oh.. char lng.

Eto sya..
mawawala ba naman inuman?..
Mina is our tangera. Empi light everybody!.. limited ice version.
Ampait ng buhay sa bundok.

Si jowa nag hibernate na naman. charge charge din.

Last few shots.
Breathtaking.
Feeling mayaman lng.
Resthouse on top of the mountain with pool?.. Why not choknot!

Farewell shot. Graduation lng.

Super buhos ng ulan pauwi. exciting din yung premiere ng ulan, super lakas ng hangin, alam mo yung feeling na my delubyo?.. yun yun..

Nag tricycle na kame pababa, then since per batch ang siste, while we were waiting sa paradahan ng jip for the boys, nag isaw isaw muna kame.

While waiting, we sat with the group na paakyat palang. All girls! mga 4 sila. Lakas ng loob.

I wish them well. Mejo masungit na kasi talaga yung panahon, anlakas ng kidlat at kulog.

I had so much fun!.. I enjoyed the company.
There has been several other follow up activities. Denis and Gonz continued and joined. I just don't have the luxury of time.. Am I getting older? hehe..

I envy blogs with list of so many places they have been to. Me I just had a few.

This would be my second post.

I hope I'll have more time and interest to add more post. hehe..

Thanks for reading!
